Bosnian Tarhana Soup Recipe
Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons tarhana
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 liter water room temperature
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Warm butter and olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add tarhana and sauté for one minute.
- Pour in 1/2 cup of water and combine until tarhana begins to dissolve (about 2 to 3 minutes.)
- If you would like to include tomato sauce, add it at this time and sauté for 2 minutes.
- Pour in the rest of the water and bring to a boil, stirring continuously.
- Reduce heat and allow the mixture to simmer for 5 more minutes.
- Taste and add salt as desired.
- Serve immediately.
