Bagel breakfast sandwiches nail all the right savory flavors in one sandwich! We use bacon, egg, and cheese filling, but you can easily customize it and add your favorite ingredients. 

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • bagels
  • butter
  • cooked bacon strips
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • eggs
  • cheese

How to Make Bagel Breakfast Sandwich

  1. Season the beaten eggs with salt and pepper.
  2. Add butter to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the egg mixture. 
  3. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until mostly solidified, stirring with a wooden skewer or chopstick from time to time to speed cooking.
  4. Flip the omelet by placing a flat plate on top and inverting the pan.
  5. Once the omelet is cooked through, remove to a plate and cut into 4 equal sections to put onto the bagels. 
  6. Place the cheese on top of the egg. Cover to keep warm and set aside.
  7. Lightly toast the bagels. Butter lightly and set aside.
  8. Put the cheese slices and egg onto the four bagel halves, add cooked bacon, and other favorite toppings.
  9. Then top with the remaining bagel halves to finish.

Tips & Tricks

  • Instead of bacon, you can also use breakfast sausages. 
  • Make it ahead: Making meals ahead of time saves you time and money down the line. After making your sandwiches, wrap them individually in wax paper or tin foil and place in a freezer-safe bag. These can be frozen for up to one month.

Ingredients

  • 4 of your favorite bagels sliced widthwise into halves
  • 2 teaspoons butter divided
  • 8 bacon strips cooked
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 large eggs beaten
  • 4 slices American cheese or cheddar

Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, add beaten eggs. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add butter to a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the beaten egg mixture.
  • Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until mostly solidified, stirring with a wooden skewer or chopstick from time to time to speed cooking.
  • Flip the omelet by placing a flat plate on top and inverting the pan (so the omelet falls onto the plate.
  • Once the omelet is cooked through, remove to a plate and cut into 4 equal sections to put onto the bagels.
  • Place the cheese on top of the egg. Cover to keep warm and set aside.
  • Lightly toast the bagels either face down in a hot skillet for 30-60 seconds or using a toaster. Butter lightly and set aside.
  • Put the cheese slices and egg onto the four bagel halves, add cooked bacon, and other favorite toppings.
  • Then top with the remaining bagel halves to finish. Serve immediately.
