Pea pods are sweet and delicious, adding nice color and texture to dishes and are super easy to prepare. They can be enjoyed fresh or cooked.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound fresh pea pods stem ends and strings removed
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons unsalted butter
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the oil and butter together in a large pan over medium-high heat. When the butter has melted, add the pea pods, tossing well. Season with salt, pepper and cayenne, and sauté for about 4-5 minutes until the pea pods are crisp-tender.
  • Transfer the pea pods to a serving bowl and season with additional salt and pepper before serving.
