Flourless Chocolate Torte Recipe
Although tortes are cakes, not every cake is classified as a torte. The main differences are found between their ingredients and texture.
- 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
- 5 large eggs
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- powdered sugar for serving
Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease the bottom and the sides of a 9″ springform pan.
In a saucepan over low heat, melt chocolate chips and butter.
Whisk in cocoa powder and vanilla extract. Remove from heat and allow it to cool for 10 minutes.
Beat the eggs with sugar and salt for about 6 minutes or until the mixture is very thick.
Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan.
Bake for about 40-45 minutes.
Let the cake cool in the pan for about 1 hour.
Invert the torte onto a plate or cake stand. Garnish with powdered sugar. Serve and enjoy!
