The beauty of pizzas is there’s something on them for everyone. From bell peppers, to mushrooms, and onions, there are so many options.
Onions

Onions add a bit of sweetness and texture to pizza but there are some who are dead-set against it. Raw onion can have quite a bite, so we like to slightly saute onion before adding it to pizza. Onion pairs well with meat and other veggies.
Mozzarella Cheese

You can’t go wrong with cheese on a pizza. The most popular option is creamy mozzarella.
Black Olives

A veggie pizza dotted with olives is a work of art. They add a briny salty flavor that pairs beautifully with cheese and tomato sauce. If you prefer green olives, go ahead and use them. They have less oil than black olives but are equally tasty.
Bell Peppers

Big on flavor, bell peppers are an essential ingredient in fajitas. They enhance the flavor of the meat and add a bit of texture. Use different colored peppers for a beautiful presentation.
Dill Pickles

Pickles on Pizza? Yes, it is a thing! The combination of cheesy, garlicky, and tangy flavors is seriously good!
Mushrooms

There are two camps for this one. Some mushroom lovers prefer to have the mushrooms lightly sauteed before adding them to pizza, while others prefer them raw. Either way, mushrooms add an earthy flavor and a nice touch of texture to pizzas.
Green Pepper

Similar to onions, green pepper is best sauteed before adding it to pizza. It will be tender but still brightly colored.
Artichoke Hearts

This is a healthy and delicious option that tastes so good when combined with other veggies like bell pepper and onions.
Roasted Tomatoes

Unlike fresh tomatoes, roasted tomatoes won’t make your pizza soggy. It’s bursting with flavor and is one of our favorite pizza toppings.
Zucchini

This is a great addition to your veggie pizza. Add thinly sliced zucchini to your pizza and let this summer squash shine!
Spinach

This might surprise you! Frozen spinach is a better option as a veggie pizza topping than the fresh ones. As it’s blanched before frozen, which gives it a satisfying texture when you add it to a pizza.
Do I Need to Cook the Vegetables Before Adding them to the Pizza?
It depends on the ingredients you use. Most can just be added to the pizza before cooking, but there are some exceptions. For vegetables with high water content, we recommend precooking or par-cooking them first.
