How Long to Bake Chicken Tenders

Cooking time can vary based on the size of the chicken tenders and your oven settings. At 425 F, it should take 15 to 20 minutes to cook. You can cover them with foil (loosely) if they are browning too much.

How Long To Bake Chicken Tenders At 375 Degrees?

You can also bake chicken tenders at 375F for 20 minutes. This slightly lower temperature will allow the chicken to cook thoroughly without drying out. If you have particularly small or thin tenders, they may cook in as little as 15 minutes. Make sure the internal temperature is 165F before serving.

How to Tell When the Chicken Tenders Are Done Cooking

Chicken tenders are done when the temperature on a meat thermometer reads 165F at the thickest portion.

Tips and Tricks

  • Season chicken generously with your favorite spices and herbs.
  • Check on chicken tenders often. Avoid overcooking by removing them once they reach an internal temperature of 165F.
  • Check on tenders after 15 minutes of cooking if they are small or thin.
  • No need to cover with foil while baking unless they are browning too quickly.

How To Store Leftovers

Cool leftover chicken tenders completely and place them in a Ziploc bag or in an airtight container. They can stay safely in the fridge for up to 4 days when stored correctly.

To freeze leftovers, lay them on a baking sheet in the freezer. Once frozen, remove from the baking tray and store in a freezer-safe bag or airtight container.

What To Serve With Chicken Tenders?

These are so versatile but here are some of the best sides to pair with your chicken tenders:

  • Rice, potatoes, or pasta
  • Roasted vegetables like broccoli or carrots, or salad.
  • Homemade or store-bought sauce for dipping

Is It Better To Bake Chicken At 350 Or 400?

Baking chicken at a lower temperature will allow it to keep more juices while cooking so you end up with a thoroughly cooked, tender piece of meat. Higher heat will result in crispy skin.

When Baking Chicken Should It Be Covered?

You can bake chicken uncovered unless you find the surface to be browning too quickly.
