Best Albanian Stew Recipe

If you haven’t tried Albanian cuisine, these recipes will be a good introduction. Made with fresh ingredients and whole foods, these healthy and delicious meals will give you a taste of the culture.

Servings 6

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of beef
  • 4 onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Peel and chop onions. Add butter and oil to a saucepan and heat slightly. Sautée onions.
  • When liquid dries up, toss in the meat. Stir and add tomato paste.
  • Pour hot water over the meat and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 50 minutes.
