What Is Italian Truffle Sauce?

This recipe for Italian truffle sauce is made with black truffles, garlic, butter, olive oil, and beef stock. In Italy, there are two kinds of truffles; white and black. Black truffles are more common, while white truffles are more rare and expensive. 

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • garlic
  • butter
  • olive oil
  • black pepper
  • freshly grated black truffle
  • beef stock
  • For Serving: cooked tagliatelle pasta, freshly grated parmesan cheese

How to Make Truffle Sauce

  • Crush the garlic cloves to release their flavor. 
  • In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the olive oil, ground black pepper, and the crushed garlic. 
  • Cook for about 30 seconds. Add the freshly grated black truffle and cook for another 30 seconds. 
  • Pour in the stock and stir well to combine. Remove the garlic cloves.
  • Serve the cooked tagliatelle pasta with the truffle sauce, and sprinkle with grated parmesan cheese and additional black pepper.

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon freshly grated black truffle
  • 3 tbsp beef stock

For Serving

  • 8 oz cooked tagliatelle pasta
  • 4 tablespoons freshly grated parmesan cheese
