I couldn’t be happier that all three of my kids love to read. When my older two (14 & 11 years old) were younger, they had to read each night for 30 minutes before bed. They still do it, as does my 5 years old, and they still get excited going to the library for new books to read and my daughter, who is 11, got a Kindle for Christmas and loves using it to read.
Giving books as gifts is also a great way to share the love of reading with kids. Let me introduce you all to Zoobean. Zoobean is a monthly book subscription service but it’s definitely more than that. All subscriptions are tailored to the child’s preference & reading level. I decided to get a 3-month subscription for my youngest son. He is 5 and in Kindergarten but reads at an almost 2nd-grade level. With Zoobean, I was able to choose what type of book I wanted him to have (paperback or hardcover), what some of his favorites subjects were and what kinds of characters he likes to read about.
Step 1: Choose what type of book you would like your child to receive
Step 2: Choose which plan you want to purchase
Step 3: Enter the age of your child
Step 4: Choose the type of characters that your child most likes to read about
Step 5: Choose the type of books that interest your child the most
Step 6: Choose what your child is most interested in
Step 7: Enter your child’s reading level (I love this part because my son is in Kindergarten but reads at a much higher level)
And it’s as simple as that! Zoobean was started by a husband and wife team who were classroom teachers (Head of K-12 Education at Google and Teacher of the Year in Washington, D.C.). The Zoobean team is primarily made up of librarians and educators who choose the books & apps themselves. It’s like having your own personal librarian!
You can find out more about Zoobean by visiting their website & also checking them out on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+ & Instagram.
I am thrilled to be able to give one of you lovely readers, a 3-month subscription to Zoobean! You will get to tailor a subscription to your child. Enter below on the Rafflecopter & good luck!
