Best Veggie Casserole Recipe: French Green Bean Casserole

This casserole filled with crisp green beans baked in a creamy sauce is the perfect side dish for just about anything! Serve it with a rich bean stew or crispy fried tempeh for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 3 1/2 cups green beans
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese freshly grated
  • 6 ounces French’s Crispy Fried Onions

Soup Mixture

  • 1 1/4 cup condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • In a bowl whisk together the condensed soup, Worcestershire sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and black pepper until thoroughly mixed. Gently stir in the milk and cheese. Add the green beans and gently toss until combined.
  • Pour the mixture into a 9×9” casserole pan sprayed with cooking spray. Sprinkle with additional black pepper if desired.
  • Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and top with crispy onions. Bake for an additional five minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy. Allow it to rest for 5 minutes before serving.
