How to Make Nachos

Nacho chips are traditionally made by deep-frying tortillas. If you’d rather not use a deep fryer, try one of these healthier alternatives.

Ingredients

  • 4 flour tortillas 6-inch
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • salt to taste
  • oil
  • optional seasonings
  • your favorite toppings

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 400°F.
  • Cut a 6-inch tortilla into four triangles.
  • Shallow fry the triangles in a few inches of oil in a skillet until golden brown. You may have to do this in batches.
  • Let the nachos drain on paper towels and season with salt.
  • Place the triangles on a baking sheet and brush them with a little oil. Season with herbs and spices as desired.
  • Add your favorite toppings like shredded cheese, diced onion, tomato, and seasoned meat.
  • Bake in the oven for 6-8 minutes or until the toppings are warm and the cheese is melted. Serve with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. Enjoy!
