Have you heard of the latest craze moving its way from children’s wishlists to all the way under the Christmas tree?! It’s HEXBUG Nano V2 and they are crawling all over the world creating quite the frenzy! Once they leveraged their robotic expertise, HEXBUGs became part of the toy industry in 2007 with the launch of the HEXBUG Micro Robotic Creatures product line. HEXBUG was designed for children of all ages to have a positive experience with robotics. The company’s passion for robotics was the main catalyst fueling HEXBUG’s inception. You will be drawn to the HEXBUG brand for their fascinating behavior, intelligent bug-like characteristics and eye-catching packaging. They are so lifelike that you may catch yourself doing a double take to make sure it wasn’t a real bug crawling by!
The HEXBUG Nano V2 look different than the older HEXBUGs. These little bugs have 3 rubber spikes on their backs that helps it to scurry up, up, up because of the vibration of the bug. On an open flat space, the little bug will even flip to it’s feet if you place it on it’s back. Even going through the twist tube that is included in the Sky Max kit, the bugs just keep crawling up or can come down the spiral too, without falling!
We invited some friends over to try out the Hexbugs recently. We had younger kids (2, 4, 5 & 6) plus two older kids (11 & 14). It was so much fun to get all of our kids together. No matter what age they were, they all enjoyed themselves. They set their HEXBUG Nano V2s in the tubes and away they went. The Hexbugs were moving up, down, through the loops & tubes and even around the corners. The older kids were able to help the younger kids a bit & the younger kids loved learning from the older kids how to attach the pieces & create a world for the Nano V2’s to play in. We got to play with lots of Nano V2 single packs, the Barrel Roll set, the Sky Max set, the Hurricane set & the Black Hole set. All of the sets were great fun and I love that you can use them all to create one big world for the Nano V2’s to scurry around in.
