Hamilton Beach Kitchen Mixer Reviews – Stand Mixer & Hand Mixer

I received the products below in exchange for a review & giveaway. All thoughts and opinions are 100% honest and my own.

I’m not really what anyone would call a great baker. I’m more of “How about YOU make the goodies & I’ll eat them” type of person. But, my kids always ask if we can bake brownies or make a cake so I figured it was time to step up my game and add some mixing bowls, kitchen utensils and a stand mixer to our kitchen.

We bought a lot of our baking tools at World Market, which is one of my favorite stores and Hamilton Beach sent us two mixers to add to our kitchen. The first mixer that we got to try is the 6-speed Stand Mixer. This mixer has a 300 watt motor and is better at mixing than 2 beater stand mixers. There are 3 attachments that come with the mixer to cover a variety of baking needs. The flat beater is used for cakes mixes, cookie dough, mashed potatoes and much more. The dough hook is used for recipes that require kneading. The whisk is used to whip liquids, like egg whites. The Stand Mixer also comes with a stainless steel 3.5 quart bowl. I was really impressed with how well everything got mixed together and I didn’t have to sit & scrape the sides at all!

I really do love using this mixer and I love that it’s simple to use! I don’t need complicated in the kitchen, I need it to be as simple as possible. To tilt the mixer head up, you simply press the big button on the side that says “Push” and gently lift up. How easy is that? The attachments are very easy to push into the attachment shaft & perfectly stay in place. On the side of the Stand Mixer, there are even pictures of each of the attachments, with pictures of what kinds of food you would use those attachments for and what speed you would need to use as well (you can also find all this info in the instruction booklet, as well as some recipes to try out). Two more great features are the suction cups at the bottom of the mixer so you’re mixer will stay in place and clean up is a snap because all 3 attachments, plus the stainless steel bowl, are dishwasher safe!

We also got to try the SoftScrape™ 6 Speed Hand Mixer with Case. I’m so used to using a cheapy $10 mixer so when I saw this bad boy, I was impressed. First, it’s bigger and sturdier than cheaper hand mixers. Second, this mixer has not only the standard attachments you would expect to find but it also with SoftScrape™ Beaters and a stainless steel whisk. The whisk is great for whipping or aerating. The SoftScrape™ Beaters are for general use mixing, mix all your ingredients for you so you won’t have to stop & scrape the side of the bowl with a spatula or spoon and is specially coated so it won’t scratch bowls or nonstick pans. For me, the best part is that this mixer comes with a snap-on case so after washing the attachments, you simply place them in the case & snap the mixer on top, ensuring that you never lose an attachment or have to dig through the drawers to find them!

Using both of these mixers has definitely changed how I feel towards baking. Having the right tools, bowls & utensils makes a huge difference! My kids helped me make a recipe, using both of these mixers. Head on over to find out how to make Gooey Butter Cake for your family!
